TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES
Whereas: Senator Barack Obama is an admitted illegal drug user and
is believed to have used illegal drugs as recently as November 1999
or more recently. Mr. Obama has maintained contact with other
admitted illegal drug users.
Whereas: Senator Barack Obama has maintained regular contact
with known criminals such as Antoin (Tony) Rezko and other
criminal elements in Chicago and Illinois. Mr. Obama has
conducted business with these criminals and received campaign
donations from them. Mr. Obama was compelled to return an estimated $250,000 in
donations related to Tony Rezko.
Whereas: Senator Barack Obama has consistently lied about his
contact with convicted criminal Tony Rezko. The Tony Rezko
corruption trial revealed that FBI mole John Thomas helped investigators
“build a record of repeat visits to the old offices of Rezko and former
business partner Daniel Mahru’s Rezmar Corp., at 853 N. Elston, by
Blagojevich and Obama during 2004 and 2005,” according to the February
10, 2008 Chicago Sun-Times.
Whereas: Senator Barack Obama has engaged in unscrupulous business
practices, in particular with Mr. Robert Blackwell. Mr. Obama
received an $ 8,000 per month “legal retainer” from Mr. Blackwell
for a total of $112,000 and reported the income through his law firm
in a manner not unlike money laundering. Obama, along with Obama
campaign manager Dan Shomon, procured $ 320,000 in state grants
for Blackwell’s company Killerspin. Blackwell companies contributed
over $ 32,000 to the Obama campaign in 2007.
Whereas: Senator Barack Obama used the office of IL Senator to
facilitate the vote rigging in Chicago as chairman of the Illinois Senate
Health and Human Services Committee. Mr. Obama pushed legislation in Senate Bill 1332 to reduce the number of members of the Health Facilities Planning Board from 15 to 9. Mr. Obama did conspire with Stuart Levine, Tony Rezko and Rod Blogojevich to rig the committee and was rewarded with campaign contributions. The new members appointed included 3 doctors who contributed to Mr. Obama. On April 21, 2004, Stuart Levine explicitly advised Dr. Robert Weinstein, who is now indicted, of Tony Rezko’s role in manipulating the Planning Board’s vote.
Whereas: Senator Barack Obama has engaged in lies and deception
about his past. Mr. Obama lied about his contact level with
convicted criminal Tony Rezko, the amounts and sources of
campaign contributions and encounters with the law. A complaint
has been filed with the Bar Association of Illinois alleging
that Mr. Obama did not answer truthfully all questions on the
application to the bar.
Whereas: Senator Barack Obama has invoked the FOIA in Illinois
when it was politically expedient and ignored or violated the
FOIA at other times. In the Illinois Senate proceedings of
Mr. Obama, in Senate Bill 1416, pleads the importance of businesses
bidding on state contracts having improved access to FOIA data. When
later questioned about his records during his term in the IL
Senate, Mr. Obama gave evasive answers or refused to supply records.
Whereas: The First Amendment provides a right for the people “to
petition the government for a redress of grievances.” Precedents
exist for impeachment and expulsion of a US Senator. Senator William
Blount was impeached by the House on July 7, 1797 and expelled by
the Senate the next day.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the People, Undersigned,
being citizens of the United States and residents in the Cities and States so
indicated, HEREBY Demand that the Congress of the United States begin
immediate impeachment and/or expulsion proceedings against Senator
Barack Obama.

About the Impeachment of Obama: I have blogged and posted the link to the Impeachment Petition. Many have assumed that one needs to reside in ILLINOIS in order for this Impeachment/Expulsion petition to be “legal’ This is incorrect. It is US Senate, NOT Illionois Senate that the petition is sent to. Please, someone clarify this misnomer. I have posted the link on Gretawire. That is where I received the most resistance, based on their ‘understanding’ of the petition. But I will not give up. Thank you.

Should the Republicans regain control of Congress and Obama gets elected president in ‘08, look for the Republicans to destroy Obama’s presidency and move to impeach Obama in the House on falsehoods, and remove him from office in the Senate on outright lies. This is absurd. For one, the most offensive legislation against the constitution was voted in under a republican majority. Secondly, you would not attempt to have Obama impeached except for the fact you are trying to prevent his candidacy for president, while forgetting that getting impeached as a senator only removes him from office, yet no law dictates that Obama cannot run for another office. So the results of impeaching Obama would be you’d remove him from his current office as a senator, unfortunately this has no impact on his candidacy for president.

No one is willing to sign the petition because it’s a bunch of bullshit. How many of the items listed are “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors”? Lying isn’t an impeachable offense. Having contact with a criminal isn’t a crimal offense, provided they aren’t conspiring together to commit a crime. Let’s be honest. The only thing here is possibly the fact that he’s smoked pot, but don’t forget that G.W. has done cocaine, and I’m sure both are well beyond the statute of limitations.

This is a tremendous pantload of garbage. The only reason I’m responding is that it is prominently, and inexplicably, featured on the WordPress.com front page.
1. Obama’s use of marijuana dates back much further than 1999; maybe late 1970s at the latest. Are you for impeaching Bush as well, who was doing cocaine and marijuana into his forties? As for associating with “known drug users,” why not be more specific? Are you talking close friends and colleagues, campaign staffers, or the paper boy? Or Bush, perhaps?
2. The Rezko connection has long been proven to have been innocuous of anything remotely illegal. Obama was not “compelled” to return anything, but chose to do so because of political expediency. He has not lied about his contact with Rezko. His “repeat visits” to Rezko’s and Mahru’s offices have long been shown to have been for legal and aboveboard business purposes, mostly related to his home purchase. You people keep recycling disproven allegations because you just refuse to believe the facts.
3. The Blackwell connection is equally innocuous. The proof of any Obama wrongdoing on the Rezko and Blackwell business associations is much less than was found against the Clintons and their associations with Jim McDougal, and they did nothing wrong there, either.
4. The allegations of vote rigging and conspiracy is libelous. If anyone took you seriously, you’d be facing a civil suit and probably lose whatever business and savings you have.
5. The complaint with the Illinois Bar Association is a stunt that isn’t going anywhere. The IBA has already implied that no action will be taken.
6. Like politicians of all stripes, Obama has operated within the guidelines of the FOIA laws. He may not have been as forthcoming as you might like, and he certainly isn’t going to respond to every demand of every scintilla of personal data that you and your ilk may request, but no one outside right-wing extremists have even raised the allegation.
This isn’t a demand by “we, the People,” this is a demand by a few crazy Free Republic denizens determined to undermine and sabotage a legitimate presidential candidate’s legitimate campaign.
Some of your commentators are equally delusional. There was a rumbling of support for a “wildcat” convention bid by Hillary Clinton for the nomination, but no one in the Clinton camp ever seriously considered it, and that movement has been abandoned. Obama has long since produced his birth certificate, in order to, among other things, be accepted into Harvard and to teach on the collegiate level. If Obama’s citizenship is suspect, then so is McCain’s, as he was born in Panama. (Both of them are legitimate citizens.)
Your level of discourse is predictable. Suck Kucinich’s wee-wee? I expect better from first-graders. (I’m not thrilled with some of the comments from Obama supporters either.) And you actually allowed someone to call Obama a “jigaboo.” Despicable. Racist, hateful, and despicable.
