For the second time this week Cindy For Congress was able to confront Nancy Pelosi about debating Cindy. This morning the Speaker was using her valuable time at a press conference speaking in support of Proposition 1A (a real issue for the people, this ballot measure will create a high speed rail between San Francisco and Los Angeles.) While talking from the podium about her duty to get Democrats elected, CFC Campaign Manager Tiffany Burns asked Pelosi why she won’t debate Cindy.
Pelosi responded with a dirty look and said she would be happy to answer the question privately after the press conference.
A few minutes later Pelosi was praising Prop 1A for being a part of a plan to someday invest tax dollars in renewable energy. Burns asked her again how that would be possible since she was currently using billions of tax dollars to fund the ongoing illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Madame Speaker groaned and said was she being interrupted while talking about the very important issue of Prop 1A. The press conference was stopped and Pelosi said she had to leave and would not be available for any more questions.
Immediately after the press conference Burns tried to approach Pelosi to get the promised response, but of course was forcefully removed by security.
Nancy Pelosi can spend her time ignoring the voters and ignoring the issues – but Cindy Sheehan For Congress won’t let her get away with ignoring us.
We’ll be bird-dogging the Speaker all weekend, if she won’t face Cindy we’ll face her!
