No Brass No Ammo Sergeant!
“Simply disrupt the supply of ammunition components and ammo prices will shoot up. A huge percentage of 5.56 mm (.223) and 7.62 mm (.308) ammunition sold to civilians is made by refurbishing expended casings sold as scrap by the military. A simple executive order by the president requiring that expended brass be shredded or melted down will cause prices for those caliber of ammunition to go through the roof. Other ammo will also increase in price as more manufacturing inputs are required to produce 5.56 and 7.62.
Making it difficult to own and fire guns is a tough task for Obama. He sees no reason to deal with congress or state legislatures and the publicity surrounding it when all he has to do is cut off the supply of recyclable brass casings. Why deal with 2nd Amendment issues? Why deal with the NRA? Just reduce supply and prices will rise fast.
That is exactly what is happening.
