Wow! Thanks for posting. Me and my sister were just talking about this, seeing all that’s going on around us, and not closing our eyes and pretending not to see it, but to face it and use the anguish to make our prayers more passionate and strong.

This is so true
Thank you as well from me also for posting this

Thank you. I have David Wilkerson’s daily message and it always speaks to my heart.

Kristy,
What did your Cheese Wheel say to you about it ?
Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 5:34 am
Stophate, when God is in the heart and mind, there is no need for any method of divination. What do you do? Make predictions based on how curly or straight your pubic hairs are on any particular day? Find mystical numerical symbolism in the number of times your leader shifts his head from left to right to left when reading from TOTUS?

AnneEsse,
“when God is in the heart and mind, there is no need for any method of divination”
What if you are a whack job like Jim Jones and lead people to Guyana and have them commit mass suicide ? Do you think God was in the hearts and minds of the people there ?

OK, folks, let’s have a vote on stophate’s question about Jim Jones and his followers.
Stophate’s question is:
1) Rhetorical.
2) Totally nuts.
3) Shows that he has no understanding that true faith leads in the right direction.
I’m going for 1) with 2) and 3) implied.
Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 6:16 am
AnneEsse,
So now you are trying to say that any of Jim Jones didn’t have true faith in their hearts. How do you know that ? There have been people mislead by charlatans throughout history. People murdered under direction of religious authorities. There are people on this site that call themselves Christians and yet they promote hate and violence. Are you trying to fit in ?

Hater finally makes a true statement, in fact, he is referring to his relationship with Dear Leader and doesn’t even see the irony.
There have been people mislead by charlatans throughout history.
LOL.
Hater, you are such a broken record. Come up with some new material. I know you think you are better than minorities and they need your benevolent assistance to succeed, but we aren’t racists like you.

Stophate, I am not trying to anything as simple or trivial as your response might indicate. Sometimes, there is no simple answer. And sometimes, maybe a lot of the time, you appear to be trying to distract from the topic at hand. If Jim Jones interests you and you wish to ruminate on the various and diverse motivations of his followers, then I am sure you will, but please do this in private. I haven’t got the time or the inclination to wonder about the great diversity of belief there probably was amongst Jim’s followers.
The spectrum is probably as wide as that we would find in some church congregations.
And, stophate, I have no need to “fit in,” here or anywhere else.
Right! Thank you for providing me with a trivial distraction to rest my mind from the book I am in the middle of translating from French. Resting the brain on mindless activity always sets me up to get back to intelligent matters.

Well Obambi is definitely the place to come for that. lol

It certainly is when you’re here, stophate. You talk such a wonderful load of old codswallop.

Pvt. Wetspot, you apparently misunderstood the delightful analogy of Kristy’s homemade cheesewheel and you need to be corrected. The point that Kristy was making that laboring with the hands brings you more mindfulness and in a meditation with the divine Creator. This is nothing new. Clergy do this as do religious lay people. Buddhist adhere to mindfulness in every task be it bathing or eating.Laboring with the gifts that you have can bring you serenity and a sense of accomplishment. Something you and your other freeloader friends can’t even fathom.
It appears that liberals are the biggest oppressors of them all. See how you guys want to censor free speech and attack religion? You fit in real well with the Islamic terrorist who attacked us back in 2001.

Frostee,
Arguing on the merits isn’t the Axelrod/Alinsky radical left way.
You need to lie, cheat, sneak about and riducule the image you dishonestly created. That is their, and by default, hater’s, methodology.
The Oba-mao way. Make promises, and then when you break them just look deeply into the camera and say you kept them, then let the slimeball Axelrod pay his stooges to reinforce the lie.
It really must be sad to be that amoral and empty.

CH, it WILL catch up to them. Sooner or later.

Well said Frosteetoes. I think stophate misses anything subtle and anything abstract is going to pass straight through his bowels. Mindfulness indeed: when making tea, just make tea; when washing the dishes, just wash the dishes.
I heard a story a few years ago about a man who traveled around India, from one Swami to another, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. He sought out the most well-respected and honoured men and women.
Finally, the man came to someone who was thought of as one of the most revered men of wisdom in India and he sat down with the Swami and began to tell him about all the wise people he had been to and how much he knew. The Swami got up quietly, and came back with a tea pot. He gave the man a cup and began to pour. The man said “enough,” but the Swami kept pouring and the tea overflowed, and the Swami kept pouring. Then he told his visitor. This is like you. You are so full already with what you think you know, there is no room for anything else.

That little piece was beautiful and it made me cry a little…..mostly it gave me chills. I learned a long time ago that money doesn’t and cannot make you happy. It allows freedom from want….that’s all. I learned from my parents these little gems: Never compromise your integrity….EVER. Always take care of your family and friends. Never lie, steal, cheat or gossip. (If you do, I’ll never trust you again…just sayin’) Do your best no matter what it is. My rules for living.
These past 6 1/2 months have brought me much anguish with Kenya Boy in the WH. It has just about consumed me, and I think just because we won a hearing for Justice yesterday, doesn’t mean I can relax, and I won’t. It feels good to know that someone is listening. We are not lost. We keep fighting.

Coming from someone who has done NOTHING for his or her country that is laughable. I think you would fit in better because you believe that the 5000 troops we lost in Iraq actually died for something. They were told there were WMD’s when Bush fully knew there were NONE. So now you have 3000+ dead at the WTC, 5000 Troops dead in Iraq, and 20,000 troops maimed or damaged for life. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi’s and where is Bin Laden ? Still in Afganistan where we pulled the troops out per Gdub. Gimme a break. You are truly an idiot.

Frosteetoes,
You said the following:
“It appears that liberals are the biggest oppressors of them all. See how you guys want to censor free speech and attack religion?”
You are so right. The mainstream democrat/progressives want nothing more than to “stifle” any opposing viewpoints. What they want is all Christains silenced and hunted to extinction. The liberal hatemongers play cloak and dagger games all the while knowing that they will never play by any rules (even the ones they make).

I love this post so much and I am so glad I bookmarked the page so I never forget.
“Build the walls around your family. Build the walls around your own heart. Make you strong and impregnable against the enemy.”
Thank you Obambi.
