The birth certificate released today CANNOT be an exact copy of the original – the named hospital DID NOT EXIST in 1961. See the hospital’s own website if you don’t believe that!!! http://www.kapiolani.org/women-and-children/about-us/default.aspx. ie., At the time of Obama’s birth, the maternity hospital was apparently called “Kapi‘olani Maternity Home”. . . – it merged with the Kauikeolani Children’s Hospital in 1978. “The two hospitals joined in 1978 to become Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children.” So why is the latter name listed on the birth certificate? I’m sure there is a logical explanation. . .?

The PDF says ‘Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital’. A non-existant name for sure, but still seems closer to the old name (Maternity) than the new name (Medical) so it could be a clerical error.
If you can argue your case a bit more, I’m all ready to add this to my ever-growing list!

earlier reports that the Obama certificate mis-named the hospital are unfounded. The Nordyke twins’ certificates name that same hospital.
